About me

I breathe, dream, and live for the deaf community and full human rights.

Sign Language is my mother tongue, and I have a deep understanding of deaf culture. In addition, I come from a deaf family, I have a deaf husband, and two of my four adult children are also deaf.

I have extensive experience in leadership, pedagogy, and cooperation with diverse parties. I value humanity and understand the diversity of people. I am very creative and motivated by new challenges.

Three areas I want to influence in the WFD board

• The right of deaf children to sign language education
• The rights of deaf women
• Diverse deaf community

In all of these areas, I want to support, promote, and improve equality.

I hope that together with the board, we can develop both the current strategy of WFD and a strategy that promotes the fulfillment of deaf people’s human rights. This can be accomplished through effective collaboration with national deaf associations, the United Nations, and other stakeholders.
